This distinctive wedge-shaped housing is specifically designed for portable instrument applications. The case made from Polypropylene offers a robust construction with excellent resistance to a wide range of materials gases and fluids as well as UV exposure. This case is therefore able to withstand both internal and external environments making it suitable for a wide range of applications. User interface controls as well as data I/O are easily accommodated through the inclusion of an aluminium cover plate. This plate can be supplied ready for assembly with all apertures ready cut and can also be supplied fitted with displays and membrane switch panels to your requirements via our modification service. The flip top case therefore offers an economical packaging solution to the ever growing number of portable electronic instrument applications. The case consists of a moulding which includes the base section and via a “living hinge” flip over lid. The two halves of the case are opened and securely shut using a robust snap together clip, moulded to the front of the lid. The base includes six moulded bosses for horizontal PCB mounting, the largest case being suitable for housing a single Euro card 100 x 160mm. The kit includes six self-tapping screws for PCB mounting. An aluminium cover plate is assembled to the base section being retained by two clips at the rear and secured firmly by a single screw fixing at the front for ease of access. This screw can be replaced by a security fixing if desired to restrict access. |
