The purpose of this page is to provide what we hope are useful explanations and details of many of the specifications and acronyms that we seem to be so fond of in the Electronics industry. We can not cover all the issues and will focus on those most applicable to our part of the mnarket place, but we would be pleased to add other information if you find something usefull - just email us at p.hoath@verotech.co.uk

BIOMASTER TECHNICAL INFORMATION
HOW BIOMASTER WORKS. Vero Technologies through a partnership with Biomaster has introduced a new finish to safely inhibit bacterial growth for an extended period, typically in excess of the product life. The key benefit is that the base material is added to the raw ABS before the moulding process in the case of plastic enclosures. As the additive becomes an intrinsic part of the material, the efficacy of the protection does not diminish over time, giving far superior protection to external coatings that will inevitably degrade through normal wear and tear, routine cleaning and accidental damage. For front panels and extruded aluminium enclosures trials, where the antimicrobial material is added to the anodising process are currently being conducted; preliminary results show similar reductions in bacterial growth rates to those found in plastic enclosures. The additive has been tested on over 50 different bacteria, including the commonly encountered MRSA, E.Coli, Listeria, Salmonella and Campylobacter species with independent testing to ISO 22196:2011, using MRSA and E.Coli, has confirmed the effectiveness of the additive.
